Bicycle crossing

Are bicycle crossings important for the theory test or the practical driving test?

Bicycle crossings are part of the curriculum, but they are not very important for the theory test or the practical driving test. As long as you know what a bicycle crossing is and what it looks like, that should be enough. The main thing is to know that the parking rules at bicycle crossings are the same as at pedestrian crossings.

What is a bicycle crossing?

A bicycle crossing is an area where cyclists and drivers of small electric vehicles, such as scooters, can cross the road. It looks similar to a pedestrian crossing, but pedestrian crossings are mainly for pedestrians, while bicycle crossings are made for cyclists.

Can I park near a bicycle crossing?

No, you cannot park closer than 5 meters in front of a bicycle crossing. This is to ensure good visibility for traffic and to protect pedestrians and cyclists. You may, however, park as close as you like behind the crossing. The picture below shows this for a pedestrian crossing, but the same rule applies to a bicycle crossing.
