Information signs

What do information signs look like?

Information signs are square, with a blue background, white border and a white symbol with text. There are exceptions to this rule of thumb. Information signs provide information about special rules — including prohibitions and requirements that apply on a particular stretch of road or at a specific location.
Parking

Parking

The sign indicates that parking is permitted at the location, provided the parking does not conflict with the traffic rules on stopping or parking. If the sign has supplementary plate 828 "Extent of stopping or parking regulation", it is nevertheless permitted to park in the indicated direction even if the parking would otherwise conflict with the traffic rules on stopping and parking. If a supplementary plate states that parking is reserved for specific vehicle or road-user groups, parking is prohibited for others. If the sign is placed on or beside a specifically delimited area, such as a parking lot, the sign applies to the entire area. Otherwise, the sign applies only on the side of the road on which it is posted. In that case it applies until the nearest junction, or until a new sign 552 "Parking", sign 370 "No stopping", sign 372 "No parking", or sign 376 "Parking zone". If a miniature of the sign, possibly with a supplementary plate, is mounted on a parking meter, parking is permitted in accordance with the special rules for paid parking. In that case the sign applies to the parking bay in question regardless of the traffic rules on stopping and parking.
