What do marker signs look like?
Marker signs are square and have yellow symbols on a black background, or black symbols on a white background. There are exceptions to this rule of thumb. Marker signs provide information about how the road continues or about obstacles on or near the roadway.
Obstacle marker (height restriction)
The sign indicates an overhead obstacle, such as a low bridge. It is used when the clearance above the road is less than 5 meters.

What is the height obstacle marker sign?
The height obstacle marker sign is used to indicate that there are obstacles across or above the roadway. The sign is used, for example, on bridges if the clearance over the road is less than 5 meters.
If the sign is yellow and red, it means that it has only been set up for a short period. This may be the case, for example, during roadwork or other temporary obstacles.
