Marker signs are square and have yellow symbols on a black background, or black symbols on a white background. There are exceptions to this rule of thumb. Marker signs provide information about how the road continues or about obstacles on or near the roadway.

If the sign is yellow and red, it means that it has only been set up for a short period. This may be the case, for example, during roadwork or other temporary obstacles.
