Information signs

What do information signs look like?

Information signs are square, with a blue background, white border and a white symbol with text. There are exceptions to this rule of thumb. Information signs provide information about special rules — including prohibitions and requirements that apply on a particular stretch of road or at a specific location.

The express road sign marks that you are now driving on a road where:

  • Only motor vehicles or combinations that can legally drive at least 40 km/h are allowed.

  • Mopeds and other slow motorized equipment are not allowed.

Where do you encounter the express road sign?

You will see the express road sign:

The express road sign provides safer and smoother traffic flow by ensuring that only vehicles with sufficient speed drive on the road, and by prohibiting dangerous maneuvers such as stopping, reversing, and turning.
