Is the campsite sign important for the theory test and driving test?

The campsite sign is not among the most central signs you need to know for the theory test or the driving test. It can come up as a question on the theory test, but it is not among the most common. During the driving test it is unlikely you will be tested on the sign directly, but it can be useful to know – especially if you are planning overnight stays on longer drives.

What is the campsite sign?

The campsite sign warns that there is a campsite for tents, caravans and motorhomes nearby. If the campsite also has cabins, the symbol for camping cabins may also be included.

When do you encounter the campsite sign?

The campsite sign is usually placed as advance warning 0.5–2 km before the exit to the campsite, depending on the speed limit and road standard. It is also used as marking at the facility itself.

What happens if you miss the campsite sign?

If you miss the campsite sign, you may miss the exit and have to take detours on smaller and narrower roads. On the theory test you can also lose points if you do not recognize the sign.

Why is the campsite sign useful?

The campsite sign provides important information about lodging options for travelers. Proper signage contributes to better route planning and can improve traffic safety by reducing stress and uncertainty.
