What do direction signs look like?

Direction signs are square and can have several background colours, including blue, yellow, white, orange and brown. There are exceptions to this rule of thumb. Direction signs provide information about place names, services, routes, lane choices, road choices and the distance to destinations.

Is the shopping center sign important for the theory test and driving test?

This sign is part of the theory test syllabus, and you should be able to recognize it and understand its main meaning. It is usually less central during the driving test, but you should still be familiar with it.

What is the shopping center sign?

The shopping center sign is an information sign that shows the way to a shopping center. It tells you that you are approaching an area with stores and parking, so you can prepare for the exit and parking.

Where do you encounter the shopping center sign?

You can see the shopping center sign at:

  • Main roads on the outskirts of cities – at exits leading toward shopping centers.
  • Junctions in built-up areas – to show the way to parking garages and shopping streets.
  • Together with other direction signing symbols, for example gas station or pharmacy.
