Questions and answers about practice driving
How long is the basic traffic course valid?
The basic traffic course never runs out. Once you have taken it, you never need to take it again.
When the darkness course is missing
If you took the course without the darkness part, you may practise from 16 March to 31 October. This applies every year until the darkness course is done.
You do not need to take the rest of the course again. You only take the darkness course at a driving school between 1 November and 15 March.
To check a given day, use the darkness course calculator.
The theory test runs out after three years
The theory test is different. Once you have passed it, you must pass the driving test within three years. Otherwise you must take the theory test again.
You still never need to take the basic traffic course again, even if the theory test has to be retaken.

The traffic elective and age 25
If you took the basic traffic course through the traffic elective at school, it lasts just as long. You then take the darkness course at a driving school.
If you are 25 or older, you do not need the course to practise. You must still take the first aid part and the darkness course to get a licence, but you may practise before you have taken them.
Practise with the app
Once the course is done, you can log your practice driving for free in the Teorimester app. Read more about the driving log in the app.
